New research aims to uncover the mystery behind the Falklands Wolf

The Falkland Islands wolf was first scientifically observed and recorded by Darwin but was hunted to extinction in the latter half of the 19th century. The Falkland Islands wolf has long been considered a mysteries in animal evolution and confusion has reigned regarding what the species was descended from, and how it had ended up in such a remote place, hundreds of kilometres from the nearest mainland.
