Bee- friendly Manchester

Bee-friendly Manchester

Let’s all get behind plans to make Manchester a more Bee-friendly city. We need more flowers which bees like to pollinate.

Manchester is already showcasing some great bee initiatives, through business and community initatives. Legal firm Eversheds already have a city centre Bee World whilst the Tale of Two Cities project has created many wildflower spaces in both Liverpool and Manchester.

Even Bez from the Happy Mondays is getting in on the act. And Dutch firm JUB have been working with Manchester City Council to plant bee-friendly bulbs and even donated 5,000 bulbs to attendees of the Bee Summit.

I also got to learn something new about bees whilst in Manchester. Apparently, 85% of the honey we, consume in Britain is imported.
